If a module has dead pixels, color shift, or stops working during the warranty period, we send you a replacement for free. You do not need to ship the faulty one back. When we ship your order, we include 5% spare LED modules and commonly used spare parts. For example, if you buy 100 modules, we add 5 extra ones. If a module fails on site, you can replace it with a spare right away without waiting for us to send a new one.

Yes, the P4 outdoor LED screen has an IP65 rating. It is designed for outdoor LED display installations exposed to rain and dust. Normal rain or heavy rain will not cause water to get inside. However, do not soak the screen in water or aim a high-pressure water gun at the gaps. During installation, make sure the junction boxes are properly sealed, and the rubber strips between cabinets are pressed tight. For daily cleaning, use a damp cloth. Do not spray water directly onto the front of the screen.

960×960mm cabinets are for large billboards, building facades, rooftop screens, and outdoor advertising displays. Bigger cabinets mean fewer of them. So you install faster and get fewer seams. You usually need a crane or a steel frame. Highway billboards — almost all of them use these large cabinets.

500×500mm cabinets are for small screens or custom shapes, such as curved walls, column wraps, or rental events. One person can carry one. No need for a second set of hands. Mid-sized roadside billboards — many of them use this size.

Both have a 4mm pixel pitch. But the outdoor and indoor versions are built completely differently. Three main differences:

Brightness

P4 outdoor LED screens run 5500 to 8000 nits. They stay visible under direct sunlight. P4 indoor LED screens run 800 to 1200 nits. That’s fine for conference rooms, lobbies, and shopping mall atriums. Take an indoor screen outside, and at noon you won’t see a thing.

Water and dust protection

Outdoor LED displays are IP65 rated. They can take rain, dust, and moisture. Indoor screens are not waterproof. Not a single drop. Install an indoor LED display on a building facade, and one heavy rainstorm will kill it. We have seen too many cases like this.

Cooling and cabinet

Outdoor cabinets use die-cast aluminum or steel with cooling fins. They shed heat even under the sun. Indoor cabinets are thin with no cooling. Leave them outside for two summers, and LEDs start dying in large numbers.

In short, Outdoor screens are made for rain, sun, wind, and temperature swings. Indoor screens must stay inside — no water, no sunlight, no wind.

There is no fixed size limit for a P4 outdoor LED display. As long as the wall or steel frame can support the weight, additional cabinets can be added to increase the screen size.

The largest project we have supplied was 200 meters long and 12 meters high, with a total area of 2,400 square meters. It was installed along a highway as an outdoor advertising billboard.

Only two limits:

First, how much weight the wall or steel frame can hold. If the steel frame is too weak, the screen will sag or even fall off. We will calculate the steel structure for you. You don’t have to figure it out.

Second, your budget. A larger outdoor LED screen requires a stronger steel frame, more power supplies, and additional receiver cards. The cost from 100 square meters to 1,000 square meters is not 10 times — it’s more. Long-distance cabling and larger power distribution boxes add up.

The P4 outdoor screen has a brightness of 5500 to 8000 nits, so the image stays clear even under direct sunlight. The screen also has an anti-glare coating and black masks on the surface to reduce reflection. You do not need to add a sunshade or extra cover.

One small detail to keep in mind: try not to install the screen facing directly into low-angle sunset light for long periods. For example, a south-facing wall is fine. But if the screen constantly faces the setting sun, there may be some reflection. Adjusting the installation angle can solve this.

A screen installed on a highway billboard usually costs more than one installed under a canopy. The reason is that direct sunlight requires higher brightness, and higher brightness means a higher cost.

The refresh rate also affects the price. For a normal outdoor LED advertising screen, 1920Hz is usually enough. If the screen will be filmed by cameras, such as a stadium perimeter screen or a live event display, 3840Hz is the more common choice.

Cabinet material makes a difference as well. Most fixed outdoor LED screens use steel cabinets because the cost is lower. Rental LED screens are more likely to use die-cast aluminum because the cabinets are lighter and easier to transport.

The control system is another factor. A single billboard can work well with a standard control card. If several screens need to run together, or the project requires remote management, NovaStar is often selected.

Screen size affects the unit price. In most cases, a 100-square-meter LED billboard costs less per square meter than a 10-square-meter screen with the same configuration.

Custom work also increases the cost. Curved screens, corner displays, column wraps, and non-standard cabinet sizes require additional production and installation work.

Some optional features add to the budget as well. Front maintenance, redundant power supplies, ambient light sensors, and flight cases all increase the total project cost.

The LED chip, power supply, and driver IC also affect the final quotation. This is why two P4 outdoor LED displays of the same size can have very different prices.
