Many first-time buyers focus on screen specifications first. In most projects, the viewing position and content design have a greater impact on the 3D effect than the pixel pitch itself.

If you use standard advertising content, your audience will only see a normal LED screen.

Which Pixel Pitch Is Best for a 3D LED Display?

If viewers are typically 3 to 5 meters from the screen, P2.5 or P3 is usually a better fit. For outdoor 3D LED billboards viewed from farther away, P4 is often a practical choice because it provides enough image detail without adding pixel density that may not be visible at that distance. P5 may also be suitable for longer viewing distances.

Many buyers initially ask for P2.5 because they assume a smaller pixel pitch will create a stronger 3D effect. After we check the screen size and viewing distance, P3.91 or P4 may be sufficient and can avoid paying for extra pixel density that viewers are unlikely to notice.

Many building corners are not exactly 90°. Before cabinet production, we usually confirm the actual corner angle from drawings or site measurements. We custom-made a non-standard corner cabinet to keep the image straight across the corner with no misalignment. The screen is now used for mall promotions and seasonal event content.

What Factors Determine the Display Quality of 3D LED Screens?

For most 3D LED displays, the final effect depends on the screen quality, content design, viewing distance, and installation accuracy.

We often see buyers focus on specifications first, but a well-designed 3D animation usually makes a bigger difference than choosing a smaller pixel pitch.

Does a 3D LED Display Have to Use a Corner?

No. A 3D LED display does not have to use a corner, but a corner screen usually creates a stronger wraparound effect than a flat screen.

The video is made for a selected viewing position and mapped to the shape of the LED screen. Perspective, shadows, changes in object size, and overlapping objects create the sense of depth. The effect is strongest near the viewing area used during content production.

A flat LED screen can also display 3D-style content, but the viewing range is usually narrower, and the effect is less obvious than on a corner or curved screen.

What Pixel Pitch Is Best for a 3D LED Billboard?

P4 is a common starting point for outdoor 3D LED billboards, but the final choice depends on the screen size, viewing distance, installation height, and project budget.

Some clients initially ask for P2.5 or P3 because they assume a smaller pixel pitch will create a stronger 3D effect. When viewers are farther from the screen, P3.91 or P4 may already provide enough image detail without adding pixel density that is difficult to notice at that distance.

For indoor projects where viewers stand close to the screen, P2.5 or P3 may be more suitable.

Can an Existing LED Screen Display 3D Content?

A flat LED screen can display perspective-based 3D content if its resolution, brightness, and viewing position are suitable. However, software cannot turn a flat screen into a corner display, so it will not produce the same wraparound effect.

If two existing LED screens are already installed around a corner, we can check the cabinet alignment, total resolution, and control-system mapping to see whether they can be used for corner 3D content.

Does a 3D LED Display Need Special Control Software? 

Naked-eye 3D content does not require special 3D playback software. Standard systems such as NovaStar or Colorlight can be used, provided that the processor and sending system support the screen’s total resolution and canvas mapping. The control system plays and maps the video; the 3D illusion is created in the content.

Can a 3D LED Display Be Used Outdoors? 

Yes. Naked-eye 3D LED displays can be configured for outdoor use. Outdoor models are typically available with 5,500–8,000 nits of brightness and up to IP65 front protection, depending on the cabinet design. The final specification should be selected based on sunlight, climate, installation direction, and maintenance requirements.

What Warranty Do You Offer for Your 3D LED Displays? 

We offer a 2-year warranty on the complete screen, starting from the shipping date. We normally include 5% spare modules based on the total module quantity. For custom corner modules, we may include a slightly higher spare ratio so replacement parts are available on site when needed.
